Hard Drive Upgrades

We can upgrade the hard drive in your computer. We can add a second hard drive 
or install a large hard drive to replace your present one. We can even transfer 
your data from the old drive to the new drive. 

There are some considerations that we may discuss with you. For instance, it is 
important to know if you have a CD ROM drive and what type of interface it uses 
because some CD ROM drives run off the hard drive controller and you can only 
have 2 drives total on a controller. We may need to add a secondary controller 
in many cases. 

In the case of hard drives over 528 MB, a seconday controller is usually the 
best choice although it adds to the cost. There are reasons that adding an old 
hard drive to an IDE hard drive may make your system inefficient.

There are jumpers to set and partitioning and formatting to install a new 
drive. There is also the data from your old drive. Do you have backups?
